Hello,
How (where) do you change the user preferences?
I went to Settings=>Configuration=>About Configuration and under the 3rd category down "PREFERENCES" the path is... :\Users\arand\AppData\Local\Bentley\OpenRoadsDesigner\10.0.0_1\prefs\OpenRoadsDesigner_Metric.upf I am not working in metric units, i work in Imperial. how and where do i change this to be ...OpenRoadsDesigner_Imperial.upf?
I always wondered why every time i started a new file the seed file path always goes to the ...Metric.dgn. Maybe this the reason.
Maybe this is not effecting anything but i sure would like to fix it.
Can somebody help me?
Thank you very much
I am using...
OpenRoads Designer CE - 2021 Release 2 Update 10, Version 10.10.21.04
When starting OpenRoads Designer check what you have set for the workspace and workset? It is most likely loading the metric settings from there using the configuration files associated with the chosen workspace and workset.
Thanks for your response Paul,
Yes, i do believe this metric setting is coming from the config files associated with the chosen workspace and workset. How (actually my question is WHERE) do i go in these config files to check or change the path to this preference.upf
James:
I believe that you might come from an AutoCAD background. In CONNECT edition products, it is important to pick both a workspace and a workset before entering a drawing file. Because of the manner in which the products are designed, there is a great amount of flexibility which must be understood first. The workspace generally holds such things as the units and other required settings. The workset builds upon such items and may be configured based upon certain project settings. When first entering a session of the products, you can readily see both choices of a workspace and a workset. Choose accordingly.

James,
What Paul was pointing to in the image he provided is that what you see listed in the Workspace and Workset area is what has been selected. That is also the place that you can change the selection. The little grey triangles pointing down are indicators that you can open up a "pull-down" window by clicking on them. Just select the Imperial option, that will change the "path" to the correct units.
Found it!
I would like to thank Paul, Mark and Joe for trying to help... i really appreciate it
i should have been more specific about what my issue was.
Loooong story short, when creating a new work space i have to open that workspace config file and change the Organization_Name to my standards name AND the Civil_Localization_Name to Imperial.
Simple as that. everything works good.
Now i've got to figure out... whenever i create a NEW workspace how to make the Organization_Name and Civil_Localization_Name populate automatically with the correct verbiage.
Once again guys... THANK YOU!
