VPI drag handles

VPI drag handles and information missing in Profile view, OpenRoads 2021 - Release 2.

All the other handles is visible, except VPI points. Is there a solution for this?

Thanks

  • This likely has to do with HOW the profile was created.  When the program creates the vertical alignment using different commands (complex by PI, Complex by Element, line between points, fillet, etc.) it creates different 'rules'.  If the process in which you are creating the vertical profile does not specifically necessitate a rule at a VPI, it will not put a handle there.

For a test, you can try to place a complex by VPI, but do not include a radius or curve, etc..  Just run a test by placing a couple PVI points where a curve will be entered later.  Once it creates the complex linear elements, click on the complex vertical profile and you should get handles at the VPIs.  You should be able to click and drag and manipulate it.  Next, go in and place a fillet or define a curve for one of the vertical curves.  Once that 1 curve is defined, click on the profile gradeline again and see if you still have the handle for the VPI.  You should because you are creating the vertical profile based on placement of the VPI and so a 'rule' is created.
