Here am I just venting because I have nothing else to do with my life but stay late, not creating value for my clients or solving issues that matter but trying to get this disaster of software to work. The number one reason why I want to quit engineering is that I have to use this software. I hate it so bad, is so unstable and everything that it promises to accomplish falls way short off, I don't get it. so sick of working hours on end to achieve nothing and then having to eat those hours myself, time that I could have spent with family or doing something productive instead of dealing with this disaster.
You are not alone in your frustrations...OpenRoadsDisaster has the potential to bankrupt the entire consulting industry. Bentley needs to start listening to the end users or they will be awfully lonely when all of the DOTs jump ship. The issues with this software are unacceptable, as are the countless hours wasted investigating workarounds.
Pretty sure the entire platform is a defect/bug...Tell your boss that customers aren't beta testers
Have you actually been trained to use the software or just blindly trying to use it?
Just jumping in from legacy software and trying to design the way you did 30 years ago doesn't cut it in ORD.
Workflows need to change for your desired outcome. btw i come from an MX background and believe that offered a superior design-modeling processes and efficiencies, but we need to adapt for the new wave of BIM/Digital Engineering taking over global markets whether we like it or not.

Mark

This is probably down to the use of the annotation group text settings like "View Independent", etc. you've used for this. Nothing happens randomly, so if it moves once it will do again when it next gets updated\refreshed.
To be fair. The modeling features and engine are excellent, very useful and with a big potential.I feel that the procedures and functions for BIM are also great. What is a nightmare is annotating and creating drawing documentation. Unfortunately still an important thing for producing and invoicing the project. There are still a lot of functions missing here that are necessary for submitting the project according to national guidelines. Mainly in the profile annotation. Even though we have already sent many, many service tickets and talked to managers on the Bentley side. What we did in the old software (I know InRoads) was clear, fixed and we could rely on it. Today, I am not sure if the value of the annotation is mathematically correct, I am not sure if everything will be in order after opening the drawing, and if I want to send it to someone who does not have ORD, I have problems. Regardless of the fact that the schema changes in new versions and what we have laboriously set up for users, it sometimes does not work in the new version. And it's already been 5 years since the first version was released. Some of our customers have been paying expensive maintenance for years and prefer to use 10-year-old software. It is not sustainable for long. We are not magic.
