I have a project where Create Cut Fill Volumes is not working correctly. It seems to be using a different existing ground terrain than what is set as active. The corridor correctly ties down to this terrain. The first image shows the left side of a particular template drop, which is a correct representation. The second image is of the same left side, but with the cut and fill shapes displayed. For some reason it appears to be using a different terrain. The cut volume doesn't extend to the existing ground over the entire section, and there is a phony fill volume that doesn't really exist. This is happening on most, if not all, of the dynamic cross-sections. As a test, I loaded any and all project-related terrains into this view. None of them represent the surface that Create Cut Fill Volumes is using.
What is happening here? Needless to say, at this point I have very little confidence in my earthwork volumes.
this suggestion is gold.
Hi Josh,
Finally had a chance to look at this. The issue is your Complex Terrain - im not sure why it is having issues with it, but as a workaround you could create a clipped terrain of your outside Aerial Terrain (Aerial2020) with an Internal clip of using the Survey Terrain boundary.
When you reference this Clipped Terrain and your Survey Terrain into the Volumes Container file and re-run volumes you'll see if does the right thing.

I sent you a private message, and it appeared to send the zip file.
maybe upload seperate files?
Can you please refresh my memory on how/where to upload files? I tried attaching a 10,709KB zip file to this reply, but it failed to send.
