Hello ,
I am training with OpenRoads Design but every training video refers to setting up to WorkSpaces and worksets to Imperial or metric standards/Training and Examples. I do not think my OpenRoads came with these configurations.
Please assist .
Hi Aubel,
OpenRoads does come with these workspaces and work set. On installation of ORD, you get the workspace and workset. You can find the same on the startup page of ORD

Hello Amita, Thank you for replying . I have checked that already, unfortunately mine only came with a Workspace called "Example" and a Workset called "Metrostation". That is all I got when I installed mine
What is the version number of ORD that you have installed? Can you give me your me your email address, we can connect over Microsoft Teams to check the issue.
It seems to me that Aubel is using Microstation Connect rather than OpenRoads Designer, as those workspaces are native to the former.
Mark
I meant to say- LOL- that the settings are pointing to Microstation rather that ORD.
Hello Mark, Thanks for your response . What do you think will be the easiest way to fix it ? I am considering uninstall both Microstation and OpenRoads. And then, only re-install OpenRoads Design Connect Edition ?
I would uninstall both programs, delete all data in the c:/programdata/Bentley/OpenRoads and c:/programdata/Bentley/Microstation folders (I may have these names not quite right as I am thinking here from mere memory) as well, and only install OpenRoads initially. These programs tend to hook information which they should not.
Let me know how things go!
Best Regards,
P.S. The folders I have mentioned may be hidden (Microsoft, not Bentley on this one). Simply type C:/Program Data in the explorer search bar for the folder to show up
I will try that and revert back , Thanks Mark.
Yessir. Even though I have worked through and tested the FDOT workspace for years now, we have a custom workspace I have developed here for our company. Everytime I execute the FDOT custom workspace, I have to enter out the FDOT workspace a couple of times before our workspace hooks to where I need it to. Keep that in mind. Sometimes the software does not do what one thinks is logical.
That makes sense , I will look into FDOT website, usually DOTs in the US have some good datasets and training manuals on ORD. You have been very helpful.
Thank you, Aubel. Florida DOT has a very solid ORD implementation, even though their level schema leaves much to be desired and there are many inconsistencies (mainly due to to too many cooks in the kitchen, as it were:-)). But still, many good things done there.
Thanks again Mark
