Assigning volume or substrata feature definition for closed meshes generated from Leapfrog, imported in dgn format, on OpenRoads.

You may need to create Closed Mesh (with thickness), before you can run assign the feature definition with substrata.

Thanks Jing. Unfortunately, thickness varies. It seems I have to remodel the meshes instead being able to quickly  assign substrata volume features of Leapfrog meshes.

I think that you would need to convert them into an OpenRoads Civil element before being able to featurise them.

A possible workflow would be to use the top and bottom surfaces of your Leapfrog meshes to create terrains in OpenRoads and then create volumes using the OpenRoads Geotechnical workflow ie Create Mesh from existing terrains.

All you need to do is assign a feature definition (by Set Feature Definition) for the type of material with appropriate volume option to the mesh from Leapfrog.

To run Cut and Fill report you still need proposed and existing terrain.
