ORD 2021 R2, Template, feature def.

Hi

When I load my itl file and apply feature def. to my template point. I have a list of pre-defined features i choose among, great. I would now like to change the layer, color etc. of the pre-defined features, for now impossible. I have been into the pre-defined dgn-lib that contains the feature definitions and symbologi, but.

1) I can not find the same features, available in the dgn-lib, as in the itl fil? So where does the itl file loads the feature definitions from

2) Where do I in general change layers, color etc. of a defined feature?

  • Anders,

To add to what Holly said:

    1) The ITL Feature Definitions for Points are pointing to the "Linear" category of FDs.  If you are looking for the Component Feature Definitions, they are looking in the "Mesh" category of the Standards Library.

2)The "Symbology" (level, color, line style, etc) are in Element Templates. The Feature Definition points to a Feature Symbology, which then points to an Element Template. The Element Template Manager can be found on the Home tab all the way to the left. It's hidden at the bottom of the Element Template Picker, just click the down arrow and at the bottom select "Manage"

  • The Feature Definitions are read from the variable MS_DGNLIBLIST. If you open an ITL in a workspace that doesn't contain the Feature Definitions for the features, then it will give you a message that it cannot be found when you go to edit the feature. If you aren't receiving this message, then it means it is finding the dgnlib. I would make sure you looked at the correct dgnlib. It could be that your variable is pointing to multiple ones. Under Explorer > OpenRoads Standards > Libraries > Feature Definitions you can look here for the dgnlibs that contain Feature Definitions and see which one is the one that contains the FD for the ITL.
