File opening Slow- Reads all files in within workset

Good Morning, 

When I open files, I notice that the file opening dialog will read our dnglib files, the reference files for the dgn etc. 

But then it will read dgn files that are not referenced in the .dgn, but that are within the same workset.

Sometimes it will get stuck on larger GDTM files that are not even referenced in the model, The only work around is to cut the extraneous files and remove it from the workset filepath. 

I am unsure if this is a mapping issue with our configuration.
