I am currently using the FDOT State Kit and am running into issues with DTM's in ORD 10.10. I build the terrain models using the selection set method, from there I will deactivate survey processing rules, complete a preliminary trim of the triangles, extract a graphic of the DTM boundary, reactivate the survey processing rules and add the graphic boundary, from there I will continue to QC the DTM and make any necessary edits to the points and linework. I am noticing dozens of linear features being removed from the terrain model. They are set to breakline and have had to be included in the DTM at one point or another but as I make edits to the data I find more and more not in the DTM. On and 8 mile topo we are talking dozens. I have only started noticing this on my most recent projects so it coincides with the use of ORD 10.10. I can't imagine this being an issue with older versions since I have not noticed it in the past on other projects using previous versions of the software. Has anyone else ran into this issue? Anybody know the cause or have a better workflow that helps prevent it?
Thanks,
Adam
Are these on a common Feature Definition? You may want to check the settings for that FD (and/or the features themselves) to see if the Terrain Model Attribute property is set correctly. For example, below is a wood line which we obviously wouldn't want included in the terrain model so it's set properly.

Everything has the proper feature definition, that is my problem, if you were to look through field book in the details window everything would look correct but when you start to pan through the DTM you will find breaklines (that have been set to Breakline) not included in the DTM.
I'm intrigued by this issue. I don't know or use the FDOT standards, but sure hope what you describe is not a software defect. Do you think the problem enters in when you add the Boundary graphic? ... and you're adding the Boundary graphic to the Field Book as a Graphical Linear Feature, right? What Code are you giving it?
I think it is possible that adding the graphic boundary is a cause of the issue but I can't say for certain. I typically just add the graphic to the DTM but have not added it to the Field Book so no code, it's just a graphic. I was able to confirm today on another 8 mile topo, I went through to confirm there were no breaklines not incorporated into the DTM that should be, I panned through the project, found no issues, made a few DTM edits with several breaklines and noticed another breakline near the lines I was editing that was unrelated to my edits no longer part of the DTM. So after I panned through the file again and needed to add back over 20 breaklines. I had just gotten done going through the file, it is possible I could have missed one or two but not 20.
Adam, I can't stop thinking about this problem you're having. And just to clarify, when you say "DTM", you mean, Terrain, right? ...and are you on 10.10. 01.03 (2021 R1) or 10.10.21.04 (2021 R2)?
Regarding your workflow, what I don't follow is "made a few DTM edits" ... are you doing this in the Terrain, or the ORD Field Book? And again "needed to add back over 20 breaklines". ... how are you 'adding them back"? I'm not familiar with the FDOT workflow for processing ORD Survey data, but I don't ever work in the Terrain except to create the Exterior Boundary.
