Hi
Using ORD 2022 R1, hoped it would be finally possible to annotate the distance between two points that don't create physical segments. For example I am in need to annotate distance from CL to the ROW, or from ROW to fence. Really do not want to create dummy components.
Moreover, in some site designs, I use surface templates, no corridors there. I would like to annotate crossfall between two points that don't belong to segment.
Is is possible now with ORD 2022R1 and cross-sections annotation?
Appraciate your help :)

Unfortunately still not possible in 2022R1 as part of an annotation group. It still requires a component. We can manually annotate between 2 points with Civil Labeler. Something new in 2022R1. However you should not have hundreds of cross sections to annotate.

Thanks for confirming this. will save time on investigating on my own. Hopefully, it will be available in the near future. I believe SR was logged for us.

I feel like this assumes too much.
I have come to this question today as I realize now that I can't do what I want to do, namely:
As it stands, I'll need to put together a template and set up point controls for each lane line.
Additionally, there could be other reasons we might want to annotate "segments" (for consistency of vocabulary, if that is justified). A short list of two come immediately to mind:
Please add this functionality.
And until it is added, clearly note in an appropriate window to disabuse a user of the notion that it will work without a component, because it took me a while to figure this out for myself.

100s of Cross sections is business as usual for those of us delivering major projects. Could explain why this part of ORD has not changed since the early ORD releases.

Because in using the word not, the quoted claim is opposite of what you and I seem to agree upon.
Maybe I'm just confused by what looks to me like claims inconsistent with my experience. Does anyone care to help clarify? And can anyone explain to me why in ORD 2022 R1 I am unable to use civil labeler in the way that jpln claims? (It seems to do nothing but produce an empty window with no prompts to advance tool usage.
Might you be able to share a screen grab of your Civil Labeler tool in action? Something seems off and perhaps that might enable someone to better help with this.
