This is for 2022 R1. What is the syntax in the Item Type Expression Builder to obtain the value of a Drainage and Utilities User Data Extension (UDX) property? I tried using the Expression Builder with "this.GetElement", but I don't see any of my UDXs listed in selectable properties on the right side of the dialog. Thanks.
Karl:
Sorry for the late reply here. I have messed around with UDX's, but getting data to display from them has been a hit and miss (mostly miss) predicament. I am moving more and more to item types as they seem to be the future of the "Bentley way" of doing things. Have you made any progress with your situation or have you given up as well?
Mark
Hi Mark, thank you for responding, and for the reminder that I needed to come back and post the solution. For a conduit UDX, the expression takes the form:
"Civil Element Properties"."Drainage and Utilities"."Drainage"."Conduit Element Manager"."UDXNAME"()
Like you, I have been shifting to Item Types. But some clients may want some of their UDX properties available in Flex Tables, so rather than replacing them with Item Types I may end up duplicating, It will be case by case.

Thanks for the update, Karl; much appreciated!
I am in much of the situation that you are. For me, it is testing multiple methods of extracting metadata and see what comes of it all. Hopefully, best practices will be achieved!
