Is there any way to export templates from a template library to a DGN file?
I'm thinking about the old CellTool, which could be used to print out the contents of a cell library for documentation. I know that wouldn't work here, but I can think of a few reasons we might like to create DGN files/models from our templates.
Documentation is one, for certain. While I can only imagine the work involved, I can see the benefit of documenting our templates and components. While I know that the templates themselves can include documentation links, it would be quite helpful for that documentation to include an illustrationThe other use I immediately thought of was the generation of typical sections. Since our template would, indeed, be our most "typical section", it would save a certain amount of energy to be able to get that in DGN format and pop it onto a sheet.
So, is there any way to generate DGNs of our templates?
Thank you.
Mary, would Display Template do what you want?

Well, it's something, but it's coming in all on the Default level, not using any of the features/levels used in the actual template. It also doesn't show any of the null points, so it's of limited use for template documentation. It is better than nothing, though. I can work with it.Thank you!

It really sucks that this tool works so badly compared to how it used to work!

Exactly!!! Look at this comparison. ... it's not a comparison. Apples and an apple core.
Indeed! As I said, better than nothing, but far from what I was hoping for.
