I have a 7-mile-long project with one horizontal geometry and one vertical geometry. We want to break the geometry in to two sections. Two different Geometry projects. Is there a way to do this without losing the vertical geometry? I am able to Simplify the geometry down to the base elements in the profile, then delete all the segments before the Break point then re-complex. Then I am able to break down the horizontal and do the same to the base elements but that disassociates the Profile from the new Complex Horizontal geometry. Everything I do seems to mess-up the Vertical geometry. I have tried Trimming the horizontal and vertical but that messes up the vertical Stationing.
I am working on a 20 mile project where I needed to break a horizontal and vertical alignment into 5 segments. I copied the original file into five separate files then I removed the unwanted PIs from each segment. Had to add PI at break point. Next I Restationed the different segments files to get continuous stationing, worked great.
