I have a file where the terrain smoothing will not work. It just kicks back to none. This is a 3D survey file that has has corrections done in it, so a redownload of the survey data is not an option. Any thoughts on this? What will I lose if I merge this file into a new blank 3D file?

Do you have a Feature Definition applied to the Terrain? That always points to a Terrain Element Template. And in the Element Template, it should have that setting. If you override it in the properties of the terrain, it can reset to the value in the Element Template. You need to modify the settings in the Element Template being used if you want it to be persistent.

It does have a feature definition. I created a temp file using the same standards, downloaded all of the same csv's. Created a terrain and had no problem smoothing the terrain. In the problem file it has some cleanup using the survey chain tools and a boundary add. It will not allow smoothing. So somewhere along the line with the fixes brought some corruption to not allow smoothing.
