There used to be a some documents called "What Happens When You Place an Inlet" and "What Happens When You Hit Compute". I don't know if they're still widely available - they're old - but I wrote them to provide details. Specifically so that you know what database fields mean and which ones are used in what calculations. while they are outdated, they're still useful in understanding the innards of how StormCAD works (a Service Ticket might get you the docs). And, yes, the OpenFlows Community is excellent about hydraulic discussions (they're quite exuberant (I often referred to Jesse D as the most helpful person at Bentley)).

RE: ORD Drainage & Utilities - Questions and Observations (ORD v10.16.2.267)

I might suggest posting some of these questions to the OpenFlows Community since they are related to hydraulic calculations

RE: ORD Drainage & Utilities - Questions and Observations (ORD v10.16.2.267)

Hey Karl, thanks for this suggestion. I actually wasn't aware of the "percent capture" option. Changing the inlet type to percent capture did seem to work. The software wouldn't compute if I set the value to zero so I set it to 0.1, but looking at the results from the analysis it seems setting the percent capture to 0.1 still had the same result as if the inlet were completely plugged. This checks one of my questions off the list, thanks Karl!

RE: ORD Drainage & Utilities - Questions and Observations (ORD v10.16.2.267)

To model a blocked inlet, have you tried changing the inlet type to "percent capture" and specifying zero percent?
