Hi All,We are having dinosaur age standards of ORD where we can have separate files for element template and feature definition.
Can we follow the same concept of having separate files for features and element templates in CONNECT or it is not supported?
Also, what would be recommendation? can have separate or should be in one dgnlib file?
ThanksRegards | Deepak Singh
You technically can do this. But the part that has always annoyed me about this process is that when you assign an ET to a feature symbology it copies that ET in to the file. Thus, now you have two copies of the same ET in different files.

Thanks Marc,So it would be an ideal workflow to have element template and feature definitions to reside in a single file.Deepak
Deepak:
Not just element templates and feature definitions, but levels as well. For us, we have levels in no other library than our "Features Annotations Levels Elem Temp Item Types.dgnlib". Such makes it easy for us to control our levels and to make sure that we do not have level duplicates or levels named differently which mean the same thing. We also use level filters in this file to control areas of interest/ disciplines.
Best Regards,
Mark

Hi Mark,Thank you so much for the insight.Yes, I am trying to maintain the consistency for data segregation (levels, element temp, feature def) as per the delivered workspace from Bentley.
Thanks again!
You are welcome!
You are on the right track, I perceive. Understanding the functions and contents of Bentley's default files is the best manner in which to learn what goes where. If you follow their pattern, you will do well!
