So this is more of a commentary rather than a question. we are still new to ORD and ran into the issues of wanting the detour vertical and mainline vertical to show on the same profile. Projected profiles are obviously not sufficient as they truncate the verticals similarly copying verticals in ORD is a painstaking matter. So our method is as follows:
1. Create the mainline profile as normal
2. create the detour profile "Named Boundaries"
3. use the named boundaries dialog box to select all the relevant named boundaries and under "Sheet Model>Sheets:" select the mainline profile sheet.
4. open the sheet model and reposition the profile references until they match station and elevation.
5. turn off levels for grids and stationing on the additional references.
more or less the same we did for inroads to get the existing ground under the detours just a little more roundabout.
Note: referencing in other drawings to the sheet manually is not a good idea as it may/may not display to the proper scale and coloring. at least in our developing workspace.
i strongly recommend Bentley brings back a way to make the profile a reference of its own instead of the hidden model stuff they have currently.
