Element Annotation Mask Plotting Issue

I am working in ORD 10.10.21.04 and am using the latest TxDOT workspace. We have set up sheets using named boundaries with all of our files referenced into the default model. Our alignment file has element annotation applied applied to it, so the text shows up with masking attributes applied to all the stationing, PC/PT, etc. In the default model, we have updated our references so that the reference sequence has the alignment file with the stationing as a top priority, above all other references. We have also set it's priority in the reference manage above all other references to make sure it sits on top of everything. Looking at both the drawing models and sheet models, it is looking exactly how we want it. When we go to plot our sheets, the masking does not show up. I don't believe it is a pentable issue as this happens in both our print organizer and if you just fence part of the stationing and view it in the print preview.

here is how it is showing in our sheet view

here is how it looks after it has been plotted in the print organizer

here is how it looks if it's just plotted using the fence tool and then control>print

I've messed around with many of the plot settings, but figure out the issue. I've done this in the past have haven't had an issue as well. Any insight would be helpful!

  • Shawn is right. The grey FIELD background is only a visual indicator that this piece of text is a Field. For actual masking, you need to enable the TEXT background in the text style. You can apply it through the text style dialog, or the Ohio DOT has a very good MVBA macro to set text background on or off in their CAD standards.
