Volume reporting - totals only

I know how to get the volumes to report (various reports and styles), however, I'd like to get a report of just the totals and not the entire run by station.  For instance, if I have 1.5 miles of roadway with barrier, guardrail, asphalt etc., I like the full report with the volumes by cross section station however this will create a report that is 20 or 30 pages long.  Is there a way to create a report that is just the totals of the roadway for each of the items (2035' of barrier, 20,000 sf of asphalt, etc.).

  • Learning to manipulate the XSL sheet is very useful. I went into the delivered volumes.xsl sheet and commented out everything that generated the cross section by cross section volumes and the result is a report that only shows totals with no backup data. So the result is and average end area report with no shown areas to average. The report may be what you want but in some opinions average end area totals alone are of little value the accuracy depends on the cross sections.

You would get more accurate volumes using the Triangle Volume or Grid Volume methods and the data would not be based on a cross section set so no extra pages of information would be required.

Extract the attached zip file to your Style Sheet Root Directory in the Evaluation folder and it will show up on the list of XML reports. The default location is "C:\Program Files\Bentley\InRoads Group [~version~] \XML Data\Evaluation"
