I have a alignment I've been provided that is on top of some existing ground right now. i need to cut down into the ground at a 3:1 slope to elevation x, and then project off to the left to hit existing ground. this sounds simple to me but for the life of me cannot get it to work. what do i need to do here? i tried doing an end condition from the origin at the slope, set the component target to my elevation, not sure what to set the point constrains to besides my slope. and then put another end condition coming off flat to the left to seek ground. that did not work at all though. what am i doing wrong here?
One fairly simple solution is to create a profile on said alignment at that elevation and use it as a vertical only point control for the vertical control you need to set. Set a null point as that control so any other point or component in the template can use the null as necessary. Alternatively, you can have a construction element containing that constant elevation profile that's an offset partial from your alignment (similar to how a ditch profile would be established).
