Good morning,
We received some survey with utilities depths and sizes. Some of the utilities have sizes that are not within the options in the conduit sizes. So we decided to create custom prototypes within the file.
We have a separate utlities model and dgn with each utility type. For sanitary sewers and force mains we were able to use the conduit catalog to add new sizes and draw them in.
However, for other utilities, they are not populating in the conduit catalog and there is no way to add new sizes. Here is the catalog for the file with the gas lines drawn in.
How do we add custom sizes for utilities that do not populate in the conduit catalog?
Emily:
A bit confusing, heh?
The sizes for the utilities are located in the feature definitions for the utilities, not a conduit catalog. If you open up one of these FD's, you will have an entry there for adding/ removing sizes. I do not have my computer with me right now or I would provide a screen shot.
Best Regards,
Mark
Found it. As best practice, should i make a new feature definition in the file and create the custom sizes there? or am I okay to just add to this table in the orignal feature def in the project explorer?
It would be fine to modify the presented Bentley table.

Thanks!
However... and I just thought about this... this table is used for a proposed feature definition and that is how the conduit will show up. We have two categories for our conduits: existing and proposed and the feature definitions handle different symbologies: one for survey and one for design. Just something to think about for you, here.
