Hi,
San Diego had custom linestyles for the existing ground for Profiles in InRoads. In OpenRoads that custom linestyle is multiplied by the Profile Vertical Exaggeration.
when Vertical Exaggeration is set to 1.0, everything looks both hunky and dorey:
If the Vertical Exaggeration is set to 10, designers weep:
I can set up Terrain Feature Definitions for each Vertical Exagg. (requiring different Custom Linestyles (1/Exagg).
I'd rather not.

I believe that the best solution is to create custom linestyles (1/Exagg), that's what we did for our projects.
However we only had to create one custom linestyle which we used for the existing terrains profile symbologies with a Exagg = 10.
There may be a solution with Microstation Display Rules to use these custom linestyles and preset them in your Drawing Seeds for each seed Vertical Exaggeration option?

that's a really interesting idea... I'd have to use a Display Rule to change a setting (linestyle); didn't know that was possilbe. I'll have to kick it around.
