I'm creating a corridor for a driveway because the civil cell provided by our DOT is inadequate. I'm using point control to get the proper width and the radius return. On one side it works fine, on the other it does not start at the first station resulting in a weird paving jump and a hole in the model because of it. See attached for visual. I've tried different geometric alignments, I've added key stations, I've redone it countless times to see if there was a bug or ghost and have gotten to the point I am out of ideas
Can you circle where the error is on your graphic?
On the left near the bottom. The EOP should merge in with the roadway EOP. Circled in red
Is the drive alignment slightly skewed? This could cause the jump to your next template drop. What interval are your template drops? Is the corridor set to process at external control points? See screenshot.
It was initially, but I had the same thought, so it is perfectly perpendicular at that location, it does skew later, but the control works fine past the circled location. I have the drop set very low because I also thought that could be the issue (which is what led me to also trying key stations), set currently at a half foot. Process external control points wasn't on, but now is. The improvement was very minimal with a smaller gap between EOP now, but if I hadn't been watching, I would not have noticed the change.
Another workflow would be to create your corridor without the returns. Then use fillets and enable create 3D automatically. You must also ensure the feature definition you use has this activated. Once the 3D fillets are completed make a terrain model of the returns and apply a surface template.
