I am trying to find a way to annotate 3D linear features in cross-sections, currently the annotation definitions / Groups for points and segment rely on the template points only, as I understand it.
However I am not sure if there is way to annotate Sta / Off / Slope for 3D linear feature that are not included in the template. Previously, Inroads SS2 we had the capability to annotate existing DTM features on cross-sections which was a very convenient for analysis and evaluation.
I am using Openroads Designer 2021 Release 1
using your horizontal geometry tools draw your line, and assign vertical info to it using your vertical geometry tools. Make sure your 3D linear element has an active profile and a feature definition assigned to it. Reference the 3-D line into the 3-D model of your XS file.
In your annotation group, go to the line that has the station offset annotation, select the point feature definition option and map to your feature definition, click "add" to add it to your expression with an "AND" conditional and hit apply expression.
