Template transitions in open road designer

 Dear all,

good evening,

while doing transition of template in open road designer for 4-lane divided highway to 2-lane undivided highway, median transition form as Type1 where median transition also forms in transition template (Marked with hatch).

But i want transition form as Type2 where median is curtailed at 4-lane divided highway end and start of tranisition.

Thanks

  • I have used Parametric Constraints to transition a median to a point in a very short distance and then you could start the transition to two lanes from that point. When you do that, you might need to use some additional controls on the outside road edges so they do not pull in with the narrowing median.

Another option would be to use display rules that turn off the median features and turn on pavement to fill the gap. This could be triggered with a Null point that reacts to a point control of some sort, or a parametric constraint.
