In MX, we could offset strings, very useful in kerb and gutter, pick up lip line and then offset to invert, rather than survey invert, shows up correctly in contours and sections. How is this done in ORD? The answers to similar queries on the forum don't solve the problem.
Surely must be a way to use the Drawing > Offset Parallel tool without it changing the linear feature Z values? That looks like all Jim is trying to do

yes you can do a copy/move parallel but in 3D it often changes a little the elevation. I didn't figure out yet what is happening. But if you do a copy, then you can move it vertically only. Not too painful using accudraw and snapping onto the original. This is assuming the feature is just a simple CAD element.
