Frequently (not every time) when I place a cell, ORD will freeze for 3-5 minutes (or occasionally crash). It appears to be scanning or updating/copying out my entire cell library each time I place a cell. That's just my current theory. I can't tell for certain.I've added MS_CELL and MS_CELLLIST to the PW variables to ignore on copy out. No change.
Can't express how much of a time suck this is.Entertaining all suggestions. Thanks in advance!
Final Answer... we have to stick with 10.10.01.03 for now, due to TxDOT requirements. The time-suck lives on... for now.

I heard on a call with our client that if you have the Properties dialog open when placing a cell, it can cause this behaviour (scanning all attributes that can be conained in a cell). Recommendation was to make sure the "Properties" windos is closed before selecting and placing a cell.

David,
Wowza! OK, good to know. I keep my properties dialog box docked for convenience. I'll try closing it.
Thanks for the info!
Indeed, the properties dialog will slow things down immensely with- especially- larger cells in cell libraries which one may be editing (worst case scenario). When developing our SUDA cells, I needed the Properties dialog quite often, but certainly hated the process (especially as over 2500 of them had need to be created, LOL).
Best Regards,
Mark
