Hello Everyone, Please is there a difference between Bently inroads and Bently Open roads? Thanks in Advance

So yesterday I got a senior executive asking me to go and learn a new software for some new client needs. He said he wanted me to learn Open roads. I know In Roads is a software from Bently but not woo sure if its same software as open roads? Please does anyone know the difference between both software's?

Thank you.

  • You will find some familiarities and some areas where there will be a learning curve. I suggest some You Tube searches for Open Roads. The Templates and Corridors are still there, but Corridors are now stored in the DGN file instead of in an IRD file. DTM's are also replaced by Terrain Elements right in the DGN file. Check the Open Roads Wiki pages for a lot of information. There were version of InRoads that contained some elements of Open Roads - Ss3, 4 and 10, to be exact. Videos and documents on those versions will give you an incremental introduction to Open Roads.
