I am a long-time GEOPAK user, and I am looking into the new Corridor Modeler approach of roadway design. I have attended a few Distance Learning classes and I believe I understand the basic workflow, but I have run into several snags. Can anyone address these from a GEOPAK perspective?
I know exactly what I need to do in GEOPAK to complete my designs, but I can see the advantage of using a model-based approach offered by Corridor Modeler.
I have trouble justifying spending a lot of money on training on something that I am not even sure we would ever use for production work.
Thanks for any help,

If the EC's are not hitting ground correctly make sure the existing ground surface that is plotted on the sections is from the .dtm file and not the .tin. There may be slight differences between the existing ground Geopak .tin and the .dtm file that gets created from the Corridor Modeling application.
When you develop your templates you need to pay attention to how the components are created. Components can be created as Open or Closed. If you are using Geopak EW to calculate pavement quantities you would most likely want to use Open components and create your template like Criteria would draw it.

And make sure you are dropping templates at the cross section stations. If you drop a template every 50' but cut sections at 25' or 10' then the tie in point will not be at the ground except by chance.

Josh,
I am at a situation that you were in.
My corridor modeler does not have option to select right DDB file and import into .XIN. I imported the default_style, ran my corridor, cross sections look great. As I go create cross sections, I got a message "No .XIN file is assigned", and the cross sections thus created does not show component linewok. Weird thing is XS shows point descriptions, but no linework other than ex-surf. Any suggestion how can I import the right DDB file? see the snapshot where I do not have option to update DDB. I am on Geopak SS2 08.11.07.615.
Thanks to anybody responding...
