Manual Edits to Cross Sections - What now?

We had typically made some manual edits to the cross sections which are no longer possible with ORD.  An example of this would be trimming stone fill slopes where they impact a culvert (to sit on top of pipe), but now these manual edits are not possible.  When our local DOT comments on these issues we are offering the blanket statement that in ORD this type of clarification edits are no longer possible.  Is there an official answer or solution for these type situations or are we just tied to the output we are getting at this point?

  • You're right - there is no way to make simple hand edits in ORD.

You might be able to spot edit/override the template at any single given cross section. Another "solution" (which isn't a solution at all) could be to Mask the cross section reference and draw your own line in as just a graphic.

This is a problem with the modeling workflow. It's great for the bulk of the design, but the further you get to the end of the design process, the more often I have to make small spot edits. Attempting to figure out how to model them risks screwing up something else along my corridor, and can be a big time sink, compared to the old process of modifying a line here and there.
