Hoping this question is a fairly straightforward one but I haven't found a solution online. I'm trying to make my proposed terrain match the existing terrain at the boundary of the proposed work. What's the best way to accomplish this?
Thank you!
The boundary is a 3D line in the 3D model. I personally did not draw in this boundary, but to my knowledge it was merely drawn in as simple linework. The boundary is not dependent on proposed design features. Currently, the entire boundary is set to one uniform elevation.
I believe this is the problem. We need to create a feature from this boundary, but I am not sure that 3D elements in the 3D model can be features.
Can you go to the 2D model and create a horizontal feature? I believe the best way might be to use the "Single Offset Entire Element" tool, using an offset of 0. Once you have that horizontal feature in your 2D model, you should be able to assign a profile from your existing surface. After you have done that, I believe you can add it to your terrain.
There may be other ways to accomplish this. There could also be other steps you need to take to adjust your modeling to best represent what you really need.
