I have built an approach/departure surface for a helipad and I also have a drone survey of the area. What is the best way in OpenRoads to build an obstruction surface so I can see where trees are penetrating through my design surface?
I tried using the delta surface but it only gives me a huge area where both surfaces are present. What I am looking for is small clouds where I know a few trees are penetrating the surface.
I have gotten to this point. Quick workflow of where I am at: Attached point cloud, created terrain model from point cloud with filter, attached both terrains, created a delta terrain.
This is what I want to see, but I would only like to view positive numbers. All the gray is negative numbers that I do not want. Is there some way to clip or filter this terrain to only show positive numbers?
There's a tool called Ground Extraction that can classify the point cloud to better isolate the data. Example workflow here... https://youtu.be/3DP2GHDNWog?t=321

Maybe you can display the terrain or the delta terrain using Thematic:Height with a custom set of level bands.
If you set the bands to only show the positive numbers (or above a certain value) and select transparent margins, the areas that are below the set level will not be displayed. If you don't select transparent margins you end up with a lot of gray area.
