Hi.
I would like to create a point in my ORD template that is perpendicular to other points in that template. Currently 3 is create with two constraints: a Horizontal offset from from 1 and a Vector-Offset between parents 1 and 2.
Is it possible to create 4?

Isn't point 4 the point determined by vector offset from 1 and 2? Either way, I think I would set another point at the midpoint between 1 and 2 to determine the location of 3 or 4.
Try the Angle Distance as pictured...

Hi, Keith. Nope, vector offset is a vertical offset from a two-point defined slope. Shawn's Angle Distance solution is the way to go.
Angle distance type can accomplish what you want here.
Shawn, thanks for this.
It appeared to be the way forward but once I applied a slope between 1 and 2 the result of 4 was not what I expected. I spent quite some time trying to fathom out why... then I realised the horizontal scale was different to the vertical scale. Duh! It would be nice to have an H=V scale button on the toolbar.
