Hi, OpenRoads Community.
I need to move the location of the Search Ribbon window (the tiny one at the upper right corner). It cover the end of the file name that I'm viewing, which is crucial for me to check to make sure I opened the correct file.
We're collaborating with a few companies for a big project. Being able to see the file name is so important because file names show different discipline.
Does anyone know the answer to this simple question?
Thanks.
Yoko
Can you screenshot what you're seeing in the titlebar? Do you see the full path before the file name? It's possible your Workspace configuration has the MS_FULLPATHINTITLEBAR variable set to 1. You can change that variable to 0 or remove from being loaded by the workspace or workset cfg. By default, Bentley example workspaces have that variable undefined.

Thank you, Jan and Shawn.
Yes, it currently showing the whole path and that's why the file name is not showing. I tried to change the MS_FULLPATHINTITLEBAR, but the edit button is grayed out and I couldn't change from 1 to 0. I wonder if I need to change some settings so I can change the configuration?
Thank you so much for help.
Hi Yoko,

I am curious what product and version you use, because your dialog does not look like standard MicroStation "Configuration variable" dialog (as Shawn Cooke posted).

When anything cannot be changed in workspace configuration, you should ask your CAD administrator.
Alternatively, you can try to find and modify .ucf file (typically in the same folder as .upf file) and to overwrite MS_FULLPATHINTITLEBAR here.

Jan

Yoko since your main concern is seeing the file name, there are a few other options that may help until an admin can make those changes.
Move the Quick Access Toolbar and Workflow dropdown to be below the ribbon to free up more space.
Open the Explorer Dialog OpenRoads Model or File tab.
Using the following Key-in will return the path and dgn name to the Message Center (can be set to a personal ribbon button if your workspace allows it):
EXPAND ECHO $(_DGNFILE)
Since your configuration and DGNs are within ProjectWise, the returned value path will show the local DMS folder ProjectWise checks the files out to.
Finally, Clicking the blue File icon at the top left of the interface (shortcut Alt+F) to open the Backstage area to access file Properties. This will show the file name in the properties dialog (and other useful info of the active dgn)

Jan,
Thank you for your reply. Since we haven't figured out ucf and upf files for the ORD, this isn't a quick solution for me. But, I'll keep this option in mind Thanks again.
Shawn,
The first trick already solved the issue and I'm so grateful that I can see the file name so easily.
Thank you also for showing other ways to see the file name. That comes handy.
Thanks again!
I wanted to clich Verify Answer under your reply, but after I click it, it disappeared and it still says 0 answers above. Can you somehow verify your reply as 'Answer'? Thanks.
