Graphical Bug in Plan Sheets

Hello, I'm new to Openroads and I'm new to posting on forums.

So making plan sheets to eventually print to pdf, there is shape that shows up in both the plan view drawing and the sheet.

its not an element and it can't be selected, when zooming it flickers in and out.

2 of my 30 sheets have this on them.

Does anyone have any clue what could be causing it?

it carries over to when I print to PDF too.

Any help at all would be welcomed.

  • Hi Caleb,

I have seen this happen with reference clipping masks - do you have any clipping or masks of any references that follows this shape?

  • The only reference on the sheet model is to the corresponding drawing model.

Is there something I may not be aware of when it comes to clipping masks?

This shape does not appear in the master model plan view. Only in the drawing model and the sheet model

The named boundary's does not overlap in any weird way.

I was experimenting and I found this

when i added a clip volume that was just a portion of the drawing it went away.

but when I extended that clip volume past the corner of the phantom red square it re-appeared

    very mysterious.

OK halfway through typing this I made a breakthrough!!!!!

I turned off the level for the aerial Survey Void Area (that red blob shape in the bottom right hand side) and the weird rectangle went away!

something about clipping complex shapes or something.

Probably should have had the void areas turned off for plan sheets anyhow.

This is the bit that ended up fixing it-

Complex Shape \ Line String, Level: Aerial Survey_Void Area (Aerial Surveys omitted ground shot data and DTM voided areas), Ref: US67EXCL - Plan 13 (D468A87_PlanSheets.dgn)->1 (PW_WORKDIR:d0915368\D468A87_Geometry Caleb.dgn)->2 (PW_WORKDIR:d0915368\D468A87_TopoLines.dgn)->1 (PW_WORKDIR:d0885657\D2361Composite_Plan.dgn)

  • UPDATE

it seems to be a problem with an annotation Cell.

I was able to select the strange mass by clicking on a phantom piece of text in the grain bin (the circle)

my best guess is when it gets clipped it gets clipped in a weird way.
