Superelevation Editor - Activate/Deactivate Rule & Reprocessing

When making edits to superelevation in the editor, the Activate/Deactivate Rule toggle (the mini-ruler) does not seem to work as I understand it should. I am deactivating the toggle to make the edits but it is still reprocessing everything after every edit I make. This is obviously slowing down the editing. Am I missing something? For reference, my superelevation sections are in a separate model from the corridor....using ORD 10.12 2022 R1.
