ALG file unit of measurement

I have an ALG file sent to me by a different company. Is it possible to tell what coordinate system and unit of measurements it was exported in before I import those files into openroads?

  • ALG files are unitless.  The units of the DGN/DWG file control the units of the ALG.  So, it will also convert the file to whatever the OpenRoad file units are.  In reality there is no way to know from the ALG directly.  You would need a point of reference to compare. If the DGN file that the ALG was created in and opened in was FT then the ALT is FT, or USFT.  It would help to have a DGN file with the ALG graphics displayed or a Report.
