Our Survey personnel are noticing the rod heights being ‘shifted’ when importing a FWD file. Has anyone else experienced this and or know a fix for this?
Here are the details:
I discovered an issue with how ORD is interpreting imported FWD files. For some reason, it is hanging on to the height of the backsight and assigning it to the very first field shot of the very first setup on the project, instead of using the actual rod height of the shot. And then, it is “shifting” all of the rod heights after that, so the second shot has the rod height of the first shot, the third shot has the rod height of the second shot, etc. When an actual rod height was changed in the field, the change in ORD is always off by one shot. It is only happening on the first setup. It seems to be fine on the second setup and all of the following setups.

Bentley has acknowledged that there is a defect in the software when importing FWD files in ORD.

Hi Will, I have investigated your files and see that there is an issue where the ROD height changes in FWD, ORD is skipping that change value and at the next station ORD is reflecting the change in rod height. I have filed this issue as defect. The Defect number is 1304973. The development will work on it and we will let you know once it will be fixed.
