In Power Civil plan view labeler, once I set up a label and place the first one, I can continue to pick data points to create new labels. However after about 4 picks the labeler fixes on the last pick point and will not allow me to pick a new point. Each datapoint just adds a duplicate label to the current location. I've had this problem in both v8i and XM. Has anyone else run into this behavior?

Is there something unique about the 4th data point (or wherever it hangs up)? If you try and pick a different element type than whats currently being labeled (i.e. picking line vs. arc) you should get a warning prompt message about clearing the label contents; that message could be off on another screen or minimized and causing the picker to appear to stick. Have you tried deleting the resource files (*.rsc) from the bin directory?
Failing all that can you post a short video demonstrating the behavior?
Hi Neil,
if, after trying Dan's suggestions, you still have problems, please contact Support and have them assist.
I haven't seen this issue before and the Labeler tools have been available for a long time, but there could be something with your specific circumstance that is causing the tool some problems and, if this is the case, Support can document the issue and send development a defect.
Thanks,
Neil Wilson (aka Neilw)

Here is a file that you can try. Try extracting one of the labels included in the file and start adding new ones where I have placed them. Eventually you should start to see the behavior.
Here is what I have been doing: With the labeler dialogue open, use the Point button and snap to the end of one of the slope tag cells or a vertex of one of the driveways. Add x,y or station and offset components to the label style and place it. Then move to another element with Accusnap active and snap to an end point or vertex to start and place a new label. Continue until you cannot pick a new snap point. I find the behavior is more prone to occur if the label style has a leader.
