InRoads Gore Modeling-Best Practices

I seem to be spending too much time cleaning up the overlapping or empty "wedges" of components when my ramps meet the mainline due to the angle of the ramp alignment.  I was curious what others do in these situations, or do you simply leave the small gaps if you don't cut a section through it?

  • Thanks Thomas.  Yes, the library helps. In hindsight, I realized my question was a little too general, since different DOT's design the ramp horiz./vert geometry slightly different.  With components, it changes the ramp modeling practice a little from before.

There may already be a CR for it, but are you guys considering the possibility of having 3d component editing tools (like with features) instead of being completely reliant on the RD?

  • Chris,

We are always progressing with a logical approach to 3D modeling. Instead of discarding completely workflows and data, Bentley is taking an evolutionary approach to our progession of the software solutions.

This maintains the integrity and forward compatibility of legacy data and provide value for your maintanence.
