Hi,
Could anyone point me in the right direction for custumising the default label parameters in commands such as the above. These are the functions that can be used in the survey module for placing northpoints, legends etc. At the moment i need to modify this for each job and i am wanting to enforce standards upon people which is more easily done by setting the defaults parameters to the desired parameters.
Any help would be greately appreciated.

Hi Chris,
I'm not all that familiar with the Survey>Plans Preparation tools (the tools you mention appear on the Survey Menu Bar under Plans Preparation), but I took a look anyway.
It apears as though the settings for these tools is on the dialogs. There does not appear to be global settings for these tools.
I will track down one of the Survey guys to confirm this, but it does appear to be the case.

There must be someway to set what they come up with by deafult
I noticed that in the drainage module for the longsection annotation a symbol file is cusumised. This has the file extension .lis
This appears to simply be a text file and the paremeters are set within in this.
I was thinking that maybe that the legend settings etc were managed in the same way??

I did contact the Survey guys and my response is correct.
The settings for those tools are managed on the dialogs. There are no "preferences" that can be set.
BUT... each dialog generates an RSC file that is created when the dialog is closed and is recalled the next time the dialog is opened. The RSC holds the settings for the dialog - so when the dialog re-opens, it has the same settings as it did when it was closed.
So you should only need to set the symbology/scale options once.
