Using both InRoads 8.5SP7 or 8.9SP?
I would like to add flow arrows to the cross sections?
Suggestions?
In the past I created a feature and displayed the arrow as a cell but I was never able to figure out how to make the cell be applied relative to the surface so I rotated it by hand.
The slope and width text can be annotated "angle relative to object" can this be done for a cell?
Thanks,
Matt.
Hi Matt,
I've never seen this required before. Plan view is where you typically see flow direction arrrows, but in cross sections, it seems like you could assume the flow was going down :-) I'm interested if others have been requried to show flow arrows in cross sections.
If you would like to submit a Change Request, you can add it at the following location. I would also suggest you attach an example that shows what you are currently producing to give the developers an idea of how to implement the request.

Thanks Kevin,
I submitted a Change Request and included this pdf of an example cross section.

FYI
Years ago, I created a modified version of Font 3 where the dash (-) was slightly elongated so that -- looked like a solid line and replaced < and > with two arrows and their line segments were aligned with the dash line. This allowed the placement of <-- or --> as text, but liiked like an arrow with a long line. By combining that with text, sometimes as a multiline text node I could easily annotate graphics with text and a direction arrow. I would sometime use find and replace to turn single line text into multiline text, but that trick has been broken somewhat in XM and severely in V8i.
Macro's could help automate this type of thing, too.
