CSSC Using Models

Morning -

I'm having a slight issue with developing some cross sections.  I have a chain that is 2700+00 in length.  There are roughly (10) segments on this chain that I would like to cut cross sections for separately (i.e. 0+00 to 24+00, 166+00 to 203+00, etc.)  From what I can tell, I have (3) options:

Option 1 - Create (1) .dgn file and have (10) models within it; one for each segment of cross sections.  The problem with this is that the Cross Section Sheet Composition does not seem to recognize models during it's search.  I have not been able to find a way to lead the tool to search within models, either.

Option 2 - Create (1) .dgn file and put all the segments on (1) model.  The problem with this option is that, unless there's a workaround I'm unaware of, a chain can only be cut (1) time per model.

Option 3 - Create (10) .dgn files and put (1) segment in each file.  This is what I fear I will end up doing, it just means that I will have (10) different files in my folder for cross sections.  It also means I will have to change files each time I wish to edit symbology, ancillary features, etc.

My question is this:  Is there a solution to any of these options?

Thanks for any suggestions you may have.
