I want to edit the Feature field of the line elements in my COGO Navigator. When I select the lines and invoke the Edit Feature dialogue, I am unable to enter the complete field name that corresponds with the SMD file because the input field is too short. Please see the screen capture.

Neil,
as you have found, there is a limitation on the number of characters thatcan be used as a feature inside COGO.
Copy the "Default_Parcel" SMD feature to a new (shorter) name and use that name as your COGO feature.
The "Default_Parcel" is part of the SMD to provide some level of symbology/annotations to COGO parcels that do NOT have a feature associated with them.
