I have been creating DTM files of existing roads and waterways features but occasionally the files corrupt and I can narrow it down to specific features in the file. When I try and use these features it sends a message of internal error; access violation and will force the program to close. Is there a way I can recover these features other than keeping regular backups and is this something that I will have to live with or is this avoidable by doing something different.
I find the features usually corrupt when updating in a profile or similar.
I've attached a DTM where the corrupt features are:
E CLARKSON AVE E ELKHORN ST EXCELSIOR AVE HOUSTON AVE and STATE HWY 43
Any insight or advice would be appreciated.

Fixed Surface
Hi Andrea,
I have been able to work with a single dtm file containing 23 million points (with 4Gb RAM).
Is it possible that IR used virtuall memory?
Kind Regards
Asmir
Greetings-
One way I have found of ridding a surface of corrupt features is to create a new surface, then copy all the features from the corrupt surface to the new one, except those features causing problems. This creates a surface where one has in effect deleted the problem features.

Asmir ,
Windows has a limitation on memory used by any program. Usually, InRoads Surface files max this memory out around 8 million points. It is very possible that your memory has been used up and Windows has locked/or crashed your products.
For more information on terrain models and memory management, Jason Smithey wrote a blog about the 3GB switch in Windows several years ago and the information is still relevant.
