Bentley InRoads Suite V8i - I am trying to load two files into Inroads. I am trying to find a Generic file to link to my Set Project Defaults. The two file names are "Drainage Structures (*.dat)" and" Rainfall Data (*.idf)". Any information about these two Preference files would be appreciated.
Thanks
The default versions of these files are located in the imperial and metric folders under the data folder of the product installation which is, by default, C:\Program Files\Bentley\InRoads Group V8.11\. In the imperial folder, the structures.dat and hydro.idf are prefixed with an i_. In the metric folder, they are prefixed with m_. I hope this helps.
Thanks,

Is there a configuration variable that once set can point all users of a site to the same *.dat file ? Currently everyone has got the files on their C:\ Drive. thanks
You can setup a Project in the Project Defaults and that Project can point to hard coded paths, configuration variables or combinations of the two.
You can also export the settings in this dialog box for import into another user.
I have one main project that uses almost only configuration variables and when my users select a project in the MicroStation Manager, it defines those variables and InRoads loads different files for different clients.
The only item that must use a normal path is the XML reports folder.

Hi
I never realized or tested that "Project Defaults" supports configuration variables!
Thanks!
