Importing 0 elevation points with Z as text.

From a user: Is there a way to import a surface and points from an AutoCAD dwg that "claims to be 3D" but the elevation data doesn't match what is "written" as text. I am puzzled and stuck by this. We got the DWG from another engineering firm and that's all we got. Seems to me there should be a way InRoads can do it too. InRoads XM

Not sure about InRoads, but I have seen this done in GeoPak.

InRoads definitely can do it. You need to go to File->Import->Surface and in the graphics tab change the elevations box to read Text.

It should then bring in the points based on the X & Y and the Text as the elevation.
