I am having a problem using Inroads version 08.09.02.16. When I display cross sections in Microsation XM using this Inroads version, I tend to have lines missing in the finished cross sections. These missing segments are displayed in the roadway designer and I am positive that they are on the correct styles and should be showing up. The wierd thing is, when I display the same cross-sections with the same .ird and .xin files using Inroads 8.8, all of the previously missing segments show up normally.
Has anybody else had this happen, or know if this is a bug that may have been fixed in the latest release?
Denis,
Thanks for the response. The components are not closed. However, I may have drawn them as closed compenents without realizing it and then unchecked them after the fact. Could this still have caused the problem? Also, was this a problem in version 8.8 or have you only seen this with 8.9?
An example of the "The Create Alternate Surface" command could be used for creating a subgrade DTM. You would edit the lowest most points in the template, click-on the check box, key-in a DTM surface name. Run the model, with the Create Alternate Surface box checked-on in the Roadway Designer. It will create another surface for you of the subgrade.

BTW - Make sure that a vertical constraint is used of .01 or .001 if a vertical face exists in the subgrade. Since InRoads does not triangulate vertical faces a vertical offset is necessary.
Todd,
I believe the problem was introduced in 8.9 (we had to change the way we were displaying closed shapes in XS due to MSTN changes), and we did not catch it until V8i. Are you sure you recreated the design surface with open shapes? You can't actually toggle off the closed shape flag unless you first add a point to the 2 point shape (logic issues here).
Denis
Everything worked once I added points to the missing segments and then toggled the closed shape flag on and off. Adding the points is what I hadn't done previously. Thanks for the information.
