You can also use AUTOCAD CIVIL 3D for roadway design. If is the most powerful civil engineering and survey software that facilitates project team to design, analyse and optimize transportation project.

Martin,

In the Roadway Designer, check the width of the displayed solution. Compare that width to the width of the cross section. The answer to your question may be as simple as the features from your Roadway Designer solution are outside the width constraint of the cross sections you are cutting.

OK - makes sence. Then the question that remains is why the features are not displayed...

I am very busy the rest of the year, but in the beginning of 2010 I'll make a "clean" dataset where the problem occurs, and post it to Denis S.

The incorrect cross section apears to contain only a few of the features contained in the component displayed in the correct cross section. When the cross section does not contain ALL of the features in a component, the component is not displayed. There is an outstanding CR to have components display even when some of the features of that component are not contained within the cross section.

Re: InRoads: Components only created in some intervals in Roadway designer

regarding your photo question - there is an "options" tab near the top of the message creation window (Compose, Options, Related, Preview). This is where you attach photos. If you use .PNG format rather than .JPG, then it will also show up in the body of your message.

I "solved" the problem the hard way - I manually wrote down the cut/fill areas displayed in the Roadway Designer, and added the values to a spread sheet.

Still, I'd like to have a working model. So any comments are welcome!

I tried to create an alternate surface in the create surface dialog in the roadway designer. This surface is created as I want it, but not for the first part of my DTM. The features seems to be there all the way, but only a portion of the DTM is triangulates - the portion missing is the same part of the road, where the components are not created...

I have NO clue why, so any ideas are welcome. The project can be sent to anyones who cares to take a look
