road design

Hello,

I am u new user of bentley powercivil v8i. I have created a DTM of a dune from survey data and i want to create a design of this dune with a road through it. this road has to lie under a defined slope and off course flat for a width of 8 meters. along the sides of the road, the terrain must lay under a slope of 45%. The total volume of the dune must be the same as before (the calculation of the volume is already done).

Can somebody give me a few hints to do this, how and which elements have to be created, how to adapt the slope of the road (in profiles?),...

Thank in advance!

Without knowing the exact details, I would say that you can create the described road and slopes very easily using the Modeler module in PowerCivil.

    1. Draw the road in plan.
    2. Create an vertical alignment along an edge or the centreline.
    3. Apply levels to the outer edges
    4. the default slope for the cut/fill slopes would be set to 1:1
    5. Calculate the volume.
    6. Return to step 2 and amend the profile to rasie of lower the road, depending on the results of step 5.

It should not take long to achieve an optimal result.
